Rick Brausen Selected As 2025 Grand Marshal

Leading this year’s celebration as Grand Marshal is Rick Brausen.

A familiar face around Hopkins as a former Hopkins City Council member and Hopkins Historical Society volunteer. Brausen has lived in Hopkins since 1991, but he started working in 1983 for former Hopkins Mayor Bob Miller. As a Property Manager for Miller, he purchased his first double bungalow in Hopkins and shuffled between four Hopkins homes over the years but never moved out of the City.

For the last 35 years he has been self-employed in the home remodeling business and is currently contracting labor with a local school district.

Brausen was on the Hopkins City council in shifts from 2000-2006, 2007-2011 and 2019-2021.

Festival attendees can find Brausen at many of this year’s events, including The Berrylicious Bash, where he will be one of the judges for the Raspberry Dessert Contest. He will also attend the Queen’s Coronation, and he will be around all day long on Saturday.

Congratulations, Rick Brausen!
